Sadly, today I faced a strange problem tying to unistall VMware player “The MSI failed” error in my Windows 8 host. Lucky, I was able to fixed the issue and uninstall it successfully. I didn't bother to find out why, I just wanted to uninstall VMware player  and intallall VMware workstation. So here's how i manage to fix the error.

The below Steps did helped me fix the issue

1) I downlaod vmware-install-cleaner 
2) extract it and double-click to proceed
3] just follow  the prompt
4] then try to uninstall it again and  it worked :)
